Accessibility

Our standard

We are working to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. This is the standard named in the U.S. Department of Justice rule for state and local government websites.

This site is new and we are still testing it. We do not yet claim full conformance.

What works today

• Automated checks of our main pages found no WCAG 2.1 AA failures.
• You can use the whole site with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline on links and buttons.
• Pages resize for small screens, and you can pinch to zoom.
• A skip link, clear headings and labeled form fields help you move around.
• Links to documents tell you the file type and when a link opens in a new tab.
• Reporting materials are available in Spanish, Arabic, Pashto, Nepali and Swahili.

Known issues we are fixing

• Many PDFs, including meeting agendas and minutes, the reporting packets and the translated materials, are not yet fully accessible to screen readers. We are replacing them with accessible versions.
• Some text over decorative backgrounds still needs a manual color contrast review.
• We have not finished testing with screen readers.
• The interactive map is visual. The address search on the "Is your business in the CRIZ?" page gives the same answer as text.
